A hot, sunny August afternoon at the McCarten family beach house in Narragansett, RI was the setting for the first of its kind family gathering of the McHugh family. Family members from all over the country came to enjoy the familiar company of times past. Photos, films and stories brought out the essential sentimental characteristics of a reunion of this sort. The genealogical information learned at the gathering extends the family tree to an unprecedented eighth generation, and updates are currently in progress as the database has now surpassed 650 individuals.
